Provider agreement — review draft

Draft for legal review. These terms describe the proposed provider relationship. They are not yet the final agreement for public onboarding. Last updated 30 September 2026.

1. Parties and role

Trading as Need a Hand Australia, sole trader based in Sydney. ABN 97 550 344 123. The provider runs an independent business and supplies services to the customer. Need a Hand? facilitates discovery, requests, communication and payment. The exact contracting and invoicing roles must be confirmed before paid bookings.

2. Application and verification

Providers must supply accurate identity, business name, ABN, contact, service area, insurance and any required trade licence or permit information. Documents may be reviewed against official records. Submission does not guarantee approval, jobs or minimum earnings. Providers must notify us of material changes and keep their documents current.

3. Licences, insurance and safe work

Providers must only advertise, accept and perform work within their qualifications and legal authority. A category approval does not authorise every task in that category. Providers are responsible for appropriate insurance, safety practices, permits, tax obligations and any consumer rights arising from their services. Need a Hand? may request renewed evidence or restrict a category.

4. Availability and jobs

Switch Available Now on only while genuinely available. Review each request and disclose any change to timing, scope or price before proceeding. Keep job records, messages and completion evidence accurate. Do not use customer contact details obtained through the platform for unrelated marketing.

5. Fees and payments

The current platform commission is 13% of the final job amount. An Available Now customer booking may also carry an A$15 immediate response fee, shown to the customer before the request. The allocation, refund treatment and tax presentation of that fee, as well as payout timing, chargebacks and invoices, require final confirmation before live payments. Providers must keep the booking, final amount and payment for a platform-sourced job within Need a Hand? and its approved payment flow. Providers must not ask a customer to pay by cash, direct bank transfer or another outside method to avoid platform fees.

6. Outside-platform payments and enforcement

If a provider moves a platform-sourced job or payment outside Need a Hand?, we may investigate, ask for relevant records, pause new requests, suspend the account or permanently remove marketplace access after considering the circumstances and any response. A proposed breach charge equal to one hour at the provider's published hourly rate is being reviewed for legality and proportionality; it is not currently imposed automatically. Any final charge, if adopted, must be clearly disclosed and agreed in a final provider agreement before it applies. Customer rights and lawful direct relationships formed independently of the platform are unaffected.

7. Cancellations, disputes and refunds

Tell the customer and platform promptly if a job cannot proceed. Contact support with the booking reference for a cancellation, disputed amount, workmanship complaint or refund request. Booking messages and completion records may be considered in a review. Nothing here removes a customer's rights under Australian Consumer Law.

8. Platform access

Need a Hand? may pause availability or marketplace access when verification lapses, payout setup is incomplete, information appears inaccurate, or a safety or compliance concern needs investigation. Serious misuse may lead to account closure. Providers can contact support to request a review.

9. Privacy and contact

See our Privacy Policy for information about account, verification, location, message and job records. Questions can be sent to hello@needahand.au.

Launch dependency: obtain legal review, review the proposed one-hour charge, finalise fees and invoicing, then record each provider's acceptance of a versioned agreement at submission.
