Privacy Policy — review draft
Who operates the platform
Trading as Need a Hand Australia, sole trader based in Sydney. ABN 97 550 344 123. Contact hello@needahand.au with privacy questions.
What we collect
We collect account and contact details, provider business and service area information, ABN, identity and licence or insurance evidence, customer requests and addresses, messages, support records, job events and before and after photos. When used, location features process browser location and provider availability/location data.
Why we use it
We use this information to run accounts, show relevant providers, handle requests and jobs, verify providers, support users, maintain safety and audit records, send operational messages, detect misuse, reconcile payments and understand platform performance.
Sharing and services
Information relevant to a booking may be shared between the customer and selected provider. We use Supabase for account authentication, database records, private verification-document storage and operational functions. These records can include contact details, identity and licence evidence, location, messages, job records and photos. We use HubSpot for provider recruitment and relationship management: a provider's name, email, phone, business name and contact details, service categories and areas, website and onboarding status can be shared with HubSpot. Provider identity and licence document files are stored in Supabase and are not included in the provider-to-HubSpot contact sync. We also use service providers for hosting, mapping, email, payments and analytics. Payment card entry is handled by the payment provider; the platform holds payment references, amounts and status for support and reconciliation. We may also disclose information when legally required.
Location and sensitive documents
Providers choose when to enable Available Now and may be asked to share location for matching or active job updates. Customers can decide whether to grant browser location access. Exact provider location and verification documents should be restricted to the people and workflows that need them; public map positions should not be treated as a precise address.
Storage, security and retention
We use access controls and private document storage for verification materials. No online service can promise absolute security. We retain information for operational, legal, safety and financial needs and will document specific retention and deletion periods before public bookings open. Supabase hosts the production database in Sydney. Some service providers, including HubSpot, may process information outside Australia. We are confirming provider locations and retention periods for the final notice.
Access, correction and complaints
Email hello@needahand.au to ask about your personal information, request a correction or raise a privacy concern. We may need to confirm your identity before responding. If you are dissatisfied with our response, we will explain the available escalation route.
Launch dependency: confirm actual vendors and data flows, retention/deletion schedule, privacy law coverage and complaint process before treating this as final.
